Volunteering
Volunteering is a very real way you can assist the Foundation to deliver quality services. Around 25 people volunteer with us, in areas such as:
Rec Club - Rec Club volunteers say that spending a few hours with a group of young adults accessing recreation on the weekends, is rewarding and a lot of fun. Rec Club volunteers accompany service users free of charge on outings such as sport matches, movies, the speedway, ten pin bowling, dinners and cruises. The atmosphere is sociable and relaxed. The program relies on volunteers to keep it going. If you can volunteer a couple of hours once a month on Friday nights or weekends, please be in touch with the staff at Clear Horizons on (07) 3824 8370, or use the contact form below.
Marketforce Mail & Finishing Services - volunteers at Marketforce help people with disabilities gain job-ready skills in mail processing. The valued assistance of several volunteers, who come for a few hours on weekdays, makes a real difference in the confidence of our service users who are doing work experience, or in supported employment. To find out more, contact Marketforce on (07) 3823 2463, or use the contact form below.
Clear Horizons - Clear Horizon volunteers include those with a talent for arts and crafts, photography, gardening, music and drama who pass on their knowledge as volunteer tutors. We also have volunteers that assist with our literacy and numeracy programs. The committment of a few hours a week enables the delivery of a diverse range of programs, offering variety and increased learning opportunities for up to 100 young adults with disabilities who are transitioning from school to adult life. Talk to the staff at Clear Horizons on (07) 3824 8370, or use the contact form below.
Horizon Foundation requires all volunteers to go through a recruitment process: you will need to complete an Application for Volunteering Form, and supply two referees. Volunteers must receive a clean criminal history screening from DSQ (DSQ Positive Notice Card).
