How to apply for a position with Horizon Foundation.

  • Complete the Horizon Staff Application For Employment Form.   Download PDF version  Word version
  • Address the Selection Criteria detailed in the Position Information Pack
  • Submit the Application Form, Selection Criteria and a covering letter to

All applicants will receive an acknowledgement email however only short listed applicants will be interviewed. 

The interview and selection process:

  • After assessing the applicants based on skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience a short list of applicants will be contacted for an interview.
  • The interview panel may use a variety of selection techniques.
  • These may include telephone and/or face to face interviews, referee checks and testing/profiling.
  • You will be required to provide the name and contact details of 3 referees who have directly supervised your work.
  • Referees are asked to provide information on your work performance, work behaviour, salary, and to verify specific comments made by you at the interview stage.
  • Referees will only be contacted after approval is gained.

Criminal History Check:

A Criminal History Check (i.e. an application for a Blue and or Yellow Card) is required of all staff employed by Horizon Foundation.

If your Criminal History Check is negative, your employment with the Foundation will immediately cease.

The application of this check will be conducted on day one of your employment at your induction. This will be at the expense of the Foundation. If you have a criminal record, please visit www.disability.qld.gov.au for details on criminal incidents that will result in a negative criminal history screening. If you have a criminal history that may effect employment in the Disability field, you are required to divulge this information to us. It is an offence to apply for a Blue or Yellow Card if you have a criminal history.
